A marketplace isn't just a store with multiple sellers. It's a trust platform. Buyers need confidence that sellers will deliver. Sellers need assurance that they'll get paid. The platform needs to handle disputes fairly. Our kit addresses all three.
Seller Experience
Sellers register with profile verification, create listings with multiple images and categories, set pricing (fixed or negotiable), manage inventory, process orders with status tracking, and view earnings with payout history. The seller dashboard shows sales analytics, top-performing listings, and customer messages.
Buyer Experience
Buyers browse listings with full-text search, category filters, price range filters, and location-based sorting. Product pages show seller ratings, listing details, and similar items. The checkout flow supports cart-based purchasing from multiple sellers with split payments. Buyers rate and review after delivery.
Escrow and Payment Splitting
The payment system uses Stripe Connect for marketplace payment flows. When a buyer pays, funds are held in escrow. After delivery confirmation (or a time-based auto-release), the platform splits the payment -- seller gets their share, platform keeps the commission. Commission rates are configurable per category or seller tier.
Admin Controls
The admin panel handles seller verification and approval, listing moderation, dispute resolution with refund processing, platform-wide analytics (GMV, take rate, active sellers, buyer retention), and manual payout management. You control what gets listed and who can sell.
