Running MERN Stack Projects

Run npm install in both client and server directories. Start MongoDB, then start the Express server and React dev server. Most projects include a root npm run dev script using concurrently to start both servers at once.

Deployment

React builds deploy to Vercel or Netlify. Express backends deploy to Railway or Render. MongoDB uses MongoDB Atlas cloud. The deployment guide includes step-by-step instructions with environment variable configuration.
